Quality Fencing Materials From Leading Timber Merchants On Sale Now

Fencing MaterialsAt Brigstock Sawmill, we supply a wide range of fencing materials. We supply everything you need to construct your garden fence, including but not excluding: featheredge boards for fencing, fencing rails, arris rails, fence posts, gravel boards (also known as kick boards), as well as ready-made featheredge gates and featheredge fence panels. All of these are available in both eco-treated softwood, or new untreated oak.

What's The Difference Between Treated Softwood And Oak Fencing Materials?

Treated softwood fencing materials are known to last 15 years on average, whereby hardwood fencing materials (including oak - even if left untreated), is known to last for around 20-30 years. We use a pressure treatment facility to treat all of our treated softwood fencing products. This type of treatment is eco-friendly, and will not harm the environment (unlike many of the creosoted fencing materials which were widely available until the early 2000's). The name of the treatment used is called 'tanalith e', which is a green coloured pressure treatment.

Eventually, the green coloured treatment will fade within a matter of months as the materials begin to weather - espcially if the materials are exposed to direct sunlight. They will then turn in to a silber/grey colour, unless you were to apply further treatment or staining.

All softwood fencing materials are tanalised before dispatch.

Our new untreated oak fencing materials are mostly cut from a mixture of English and French oak (quercus robur), though we do source from a variety of other European countries. Oak, being a hardwood, can be left untreated although this does turn to a silver/grey colour unless you were to stain it. It is a naturally durable type of hardwood which will last for decades.

We are confident that Brigstock Sawmill are one of the leading timber merchants in the country for a wide range of fencing materials - in terms of quality, price and value for money. Please feel free to contact us today to discuss your fencing requirements.
